For potential surgical residents, the deciding factor in choosing where they’ll do their residency often comes down to the people they’ll be training under. That’s why we created the Behind the Mask Annual Report—which provides an up close and personal look at the surgeons who make up the UChicago Medicine Department of Surgery. The resulting docu-series, photographic look book, and purpose-built website gave potential residents a rare glimpse into the people, lives, and work of the Department of Surgery—and helped the program recruit some of the country’s top candidates.
